<p>I don’t think ED is a very strong negotiation opportunity for you. You have committed to go there, assuming the finances worked out. I think it is a rather a take it or leave it situation. In addition, you don’t have the offers from other competing schools to provide you with alternatives or comparisons. </p>
<p>You can certainly call them and as for a re-examination, particularly if you think there are family finance circumstances that you did not fully express in the standard paperwork. But don’t frame it as a negotiation like “I’ll come if you give me $xx more.”</p>
<p>thanks for your reply UT84321, the thing is, the amount they are asking for is not impossible to pay but we definitely have not been saving that much money. can we just “leave it” (pull out of the ED contract) or will they compromise?</p>
