My first time taking the SAT I got a 2030. I am very happy with this score and felt I did the best I could do on it. My question is whether it is worth taking a long and time consuming SAT class to try to improve my score to possibly in the 2100-2150 range or if 2030 is a good enough score? Is there a certain point on the SAT that looks much better than another? For example if I can simply raise my score 70 points to get to a 2100 will that look massively better than a 2030 and be worth my time? To be more specific some of my goal schools are UCSB, UC Davis, UC Irvine, and Cal Poly SLO with my "reach" school being UC Berkeley. I currently have a 3.92 unweighted GPA and 4.25 weighted. I will add that I really hate testing and test prep so my preference would be not to take the test again but would like some advice on what would be best for me to do to get into those colleges. Thanks!

Barring Berkeley, you fall above the 75th percentile for all of those schools. Now, that’s by no means a guarantee that you’ll get into them, but it’s a good indicator that you probably have a good shot. If you really want to go to Berkeley, I’d suggest maybe taking it again.
