My daughter just got back from Pitt start with her courses that were selected. How do we figure out which books will be needed . I wanted to try to buy them used but we cant figure out what books will be required. Any input would be beneficial.

You could possibly email the professors and ask. Otherwise, you can get the list online at the Pitt bookstore website when the time gets closer. Probably many of the classes don’t have an assigned prof yet or profs may not have decided which books to order yet.

I would email the professors/depts and ask. They don’t release the book list until mid -August and you will find the cheaper books are gone by then.

My daughter registered with the Pitt book store on line. As soon as the book list comes out they pull your books and have them ready for you at move in. You can also request used books. They did call and confirm the registration and required a credit card so that the books would be ready for move in.

It is easier to get them through the bookstore as they will pull them for you and have them in a box for pick up but if you want the books cheaper then you need the title/author and ISBN (if possible).

Freshmen year, we save hundreds of dollars buying the books through Amazon or Half.com. The books were in like new condition and a few were brand new (still in plastic wrap).
