Got rejected from SLO, do I still have a shot at UCSB? (General question, no statistics)

This might not go in this section, but I’m just wondering…
Is it still possible to get into UCSB if you didn’t get accepted into SLO?

Absolutely

Yes! My daughter’s Harvard interviewer told her that several years ago his daughter was accepted to Berkeley the day she got rejected from SDSU. Best of luck to you!

I got rejected from SLO (aerospace engineering) 2 years ago, but got to UCLA, UCB and UCSD.
I chose UCSD with Chancellor Scholarship.

Yes! S14 attended Chancellors Reception for UC Santa Barbara top applicants yesterday- acceptance was announced. He came home today to rejection from Cal Poly SLO. Hang tough!

Yes you still have good chance depending on what you applied for at SLO. Acceptance rates at SLO range from 20%-41% depending on the major. The school overall is around 34% which is lower than Santa Barbara’s 45%.

Keep in there!

Some majors at SLO have acceptance rate of 11 to 15% (BME CS). UCSB is around 40 to 45% and they also consider you to an alternate major.

I’d say yeah, too.

On a similar note, I was rejected from SLO but accepted to UCSD. It’s not the exact same school you’re talking of, but a similar situation I guess.
