Sorry, but I'm only nineteen and this is my first time living in a dorm.

Totally not okay with this.

Also, I got put into Cascadilla in College Town, when I had my heart set on West/Risley.

I'm definitely calling tomorrow, does anyone have some advice on what I should say to get this changed? Also, any anecdotes regarding Cascadilla would be appreciated.

Cascadilla is not bad because it’s still really close to campus, but you are right there in C-town. The age thing is pretty creepy though…are you a guy or a girl?

risley’s AWESOME if you can get in. i lived in it my freshman year - if you have any questions, PM me about it.

i won’t be able to tell you what your room looks like etc (unless it’s a coincidence that either i or one of my friends lived in the room you will be living in…) but i can give you a general feel of the place.

Glad that worked out.
FWIW, The collegetown dorm is fine, but a high concentration of upperclassmen, esp those desiring easy access to the engineering quad, can steer it towards the less social. Rooms overlooking College Ave. can get noisy Thurs thru the weekend. It is a particularly great location for people who love being in Collegetown, engineers, and for people into the Performing arts. there is nothing wrong with it but for your purposes Risley is probably better.

To clarify, there aren’t performing arts opportunities in the collegetown dorms themselves, so far as I know, but thing is the Schwartz Performing Arts Center is right there, which can make taking classes & doing other stuff at that facility a lot more convenient than say a North campus dorm. If you schedule things right.
