i found out online a while ago, but i still haven't received the package from CMU yet. I want to be accept the waitlist, but how likely is it for me to make it in that way? do you guys have any advice what I should be doing in the meantime?

Depends on priority vs normal. I think your chances are pretty good based on last year's results but once again it depends on space. If you want to attend, accept a spot on it.

Meantime: Write another personal essay, send in recs (preferably one from an academic source like a teacher and one from a social source like a preacher or an employer). Send in recent grades (perhaps getting all your teachers to write down your current unofficial grade and send them all in).

i got in from prior. wl and a few others i know did so too. gl on that!

Waitlist for CIT, but still waiting for letter. Anyone know if waitlistees are
invited to this weekends sleeping bag weekend and if yes who to contact?

You can sign up for sleeping bag weekend by going to cmu.edu, prospective students, and clicking on some links. I'm not sure if waitlisted students are invited; call to see, I suppose.
