1) How can you predict that, based on the fact that the game hasn't even gone gold yet?

2) Blizz isn't large, either. They've never really been interested in being large, either.

3) Why, when WoW is making them so much money? To make YOU happy? That's not good business.

4) I was amazed by the gravity gun, but guess what? I was more angered by the HL2 loading times than I was by Doom 3's. But, of course, HL2 does have CS: Source, which will keep the fanboys going for another century.

5) Oh boy, and here comes Godwin's Law, right on schedule. :p

6) Retro is great, but they're not exactly the place to be if you want to be doing the really "groundbreaking" stuff from the Big N.

I'll be honest. At 22, consoles have lost much of their appeal. Yes, many of the games on the GC were fun. But I can only play so many colorful happy offerings from Nintendo before I decide to move on to something different.

You may say Blizzard is suffering from sequelitis. I say that they're giving their fans what they want. Sure, they only have three franchises, but oh boy what franchises. I mean, franchises have basically been keeping Nintendo afloat as well.

[Last hijack I swear. I need to answer UCLAri]

1) Exactly. From interest polls (which are usually skewed anyway I agree) it looks as if people are loosing interest due to the delayes.

2) Pssh.. Blizz > Valve (in terms of size)

3) When did I say it makes me happy? I'm just saying it's illogical to suggest that WoW will make them stay afloat for the whole time. PS: I dislike Warcraft :O

4) Loading times!? Play other games, dude. But loading times are not revolutionary

5) What can I say? :p

6) True. The best place to be is Tokyo. But after another Indian I know when to Japan and told me that he was treated inferiror there, I am never going over to Japan. Though this does contradict my wanting to be with Nintendo. I really don't know yet. I'm still in HS!

7) GC is NOT Nintendo's best (save Prime).

8) DS is changing things ;) And I hope Revolution too

9) Sure keep fans happy. Actually why in the world are you bringing up Blizz so much. I'm talking about the general industry. I don't think it's prepared to handle any more FPS WWII games. I love my FPS but for me Call of Duty is enough. I don't need CoD5.

The only reason I'm using Blizz as an example is because they're a good case of a company in the PC software biz that does what they do well and without resorting to pure evil like EA. I see them as a fine example of a company to end up at if you're looking for programming employment.

Bungie I hear is fun, but stressful. Especially when it comes to crunch. Yes, even worse than most other companies.

But yeah, good like with the Big N. I personally don't see them lasting another console round (after the next one.) They just haven't figured out that American gamers don't want Mario Party 87. But I hope they prove me wrong, 'cause I want my Zelda fix every few years.

War3 is NOT balanced. They made like 6 frigging damage types because the original 3 weren't good enough and like 6 armor types too. Its retarded. The whole game is back and forth countering constantly because you cant do enough damage to buildings.

Wow blows too. I got a paladin and I was like da uber tank with +60 defense gear. I had over 40% chance to dodge/block/parry and could hold aggro like there was no tomorrow. Did anyone care? NOOOOOO, because everyone thinks paladins are n00b and the only thing people want in a group are a warrior, priest, and mage. They should balance the classes more.

Sierra died. All they made were king's quest games which noone plays anymore.

Vivendi is evil, they raised the prices on games like war 3 to 60 bucks in order to milk the consumer.

Nintendo will be successful, they're marketing themselves as a good compliment to either the xbox 360 or ps3 with a cheap, cool system.

And this thread reminds me of the basic message of the joy luck club, "ASIAN MEN SUCK." Which is true!

As a reformed asian these are my top job choices:

Strategy game designer.
Simpsons writer.
Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

None of which are things which any asian parent would want for their kids. I love america, only here can i pursue my dreams.

"And the thing that I can't stand the most is that they compare their children to their friends' children. They don't seem to understand how much it sucks to be compared to other people (even though you may be "better" than others). It sucks to be showcased in front of other Chinese parents, and you know that the only reason they are bragging about you is that they want people know think that because their child is smart, it reflects on the goodness and superiority of the parents, which we all know is inaccurate."

Yes, that's perhaps the most annoying part.

But whatever, I suppose it's nice that they care about our education. The alternative is not caring at all.

"Guess which school the founders of Blizzard Entertainment all graduated from? Yeah, that's right."

GO BRUINS!

I realize this thread got hijacked by the Blizzard ppl, so I'll give a shoutout to all the SCers on this board. :P

In hicktowns, located in remote regions of California, when a high school senior runs home to tell his parents, "Mom, Dad, I just got into UC RIVERSIDE!!!," he is greeted by warm embraces and congratulatory remarks. "Son, we are SO proud of you!!!!"

Hundreds of miles away, in a middle-class suburban town, an ASIAN high school senior sits down at the dinner table to eat his fishball soup. "Mom, Dad, I just got rejected from every UC, but I did get into UC RIVERSIDE." Silence. And then....father rises up from his chair and announces in a booming voice and a fobby chinese accent: "SON, YOU BRING DISHONOR TO FAMILY!!!!"

... It's not even that dramatic. Within our suburb, Fullerton, we have an Asian who are disappointed because they made it into "only" Yale and no other school (rejected from Princeton, Harvard, Columbia, Brown, etc), whereas there is also within the same school, an Asian who are SO proud that she made it ito Cal State Fullerton and declares "See! I'm not that stupid! I'm pretty smart!" Both Asians. Doesn't matter.
You're just trying to dramatize and stereotype.

One of my close friend (yes, Asian) is so effing happy and proud to go to Biola University, and because she's so happy to go there, I feel happy for her too. It's like a Chapman University or .... well, look it up.

beat this: i actually go to an ivy league school, and still get crap from my parents because it wasn't on their 'list'. "hmm, why didn't you apply to harvard [years ago]? i think you would have gotten into harvard... [insert one of my friends' names] got into harvard [years ago], so you should have at least tried. why didn't you want to transfer?" i swear, asian parents probably up the college suicide rate by at least 300%.
