So I got into GSE in NC for Natural Science which I am looking forward to. I was just wondering if Governor’s School holds weight on the college application for in-state and out-of-state. I heard a lot of different opinions, and I just want some clarification
Governor’s school is recognized by all admissions counselors. It might help to write a little blurb about it on your resume for those out of state schools, but chances are the states with colleges to which you’re applying either have governor’s schools themselves or the admissions counselors are very familiar with the program. They know how selective and rigorous the programs are. If you got college credit at that school, go ahead and add it to your “list of schools attended” (assuming you use common app) and leave the degree blank. Your counselor should send in the college transcript you receive from that school. Good luck!
