I am a transfer student at UC Davis as a Junior year and I failed my first quarter. My GPA was 1.85 with 12 units and I failed 2 classes (4 units each). However, one was P/NP and the other one is an F. I suppose to average 13 units/quarter, if not, I am subject to disqualification for quantitative reasons. Does that mean I get kicked out from the university?

This is somethings that’s going to be fairly specific to the school. Usually schools allow you a period of academic probation before actually kicking you out. You might want to post this in the sub-forum for UC Davis.

You need at least 39 units by the end of the year to be in good standing. This means you’ll need to complete 35 units in two quarters, which will be tough. If you fail to complete the 39 units by the end of Spring Quarter, they may allow you to make up the units during summer session.

That said, if you’re receiving financial aid, or if you’re living in student housing, it may be affected by not being a full time student. I’m not entirely sure how this works.
