GPA/admissions

I am currently applying to Rutgers in brunswick, FDU in Madison and Drew University. I had over a 3.0 this semester but my cumulative GPA isn't that good (it's under a 3.0 around 2.4-2.5) To sum it up I didn't really do good my first year and half of my second year of college (I am at a comm college right now). I didn't fail anything or get D's, I just got C's and some B's but it wasn't my best. I got 2 A's this semester and a couple of recommendation letters from my teachers. I'm on 2 out of 3. So one of my teachers is already sending them in. My question is how the GPA acceptance with these schools? What's the lowest they have accepted? And do I have ANY chance? I know for transfers they look at other aspects of the application aside from my GPA but I feel like my GPA will stick out...

Do a little research–go to princetonreview.com and check their GPAs for incoming freshman. That won’t be the same as those of transfer applicants, but it gives you an idea of what they expect. Then check the school websites for information they give about expectations for transfer applicants.

They don’t give much information. I went to talk to a counselor and she said that that’s not all they look at. However, I feel that’s not really the case…

A few people in my state go to CCs and then transfer to 4-year universities (even UNC). Typically, transferring is assumed to be easier than getting in from high school. However, I haven’t known any transfer applicants myself, so I can’t say what their CC GPAs were. Sorry :/.
