in august ill be a junior and I wanted to know if it would be possible to bring my 1.990 gpa up to a 2.5 by taking 2 summer courses. I need this to be able to continue my education, please advise
Depends on how many credits you’ve taken so far and how many credits the summer courses would be.
I don’t think 2 summer courses actually apply to your GPA. I know a few kids in my grade who took a class in the summer but it didn’t count on their report card. The summer classes only help you get ahead to get into another class in the fall.
Probably not but really can’t say without knowing the number of credits you’ve taken so far and the credits for the summer classes and the grade you would get for them.
It is easy enough to calculate your GPA. Take the number of credits you have so far times you current GPA. Add to that the number of credits for each summer class times the grade for that class (A=4, B=3, etc.) and add that to the previous sum. Take the total sum and now divide by the number of total credits after taking the summer classes.
So for example, if I assume you have taken 15 credits per semester for two years, you would have 60 credits. 60 credits times 1.99 equals 119.40. Add two 3 credit classes and assume you get an A in each. So that would be 119.4 + 34 + 34 equals 143.40. Divide that by your new credit total of 66 and your new GPA would be 2.17.
So far I have 49 credits and each corse is 3 credits.
No, the highest you can get your GPA with two extra courses is a 2.209.
Assuming you earn an A (4.0) in both summer classes (6 credits)
(491.990+64.0)/(49+6)=2.209
This assumes 49 is the number or credits attempted (which includes failed classes) not credits earned (which doesn’t). If you failed any classes the max GPA after this summer would be lower.
Hi everyone…I really appreciate you for such a great discussion.According to mine, there must be a great legitimate level of your grades maintenance from first semester. If you got stunning GPA according to the discipline in which you gone studying, then your GPA will have a great worth till the last semester. You get more suggestion from this GPA app.Hope that helped!

You need to speak to an advisor at your school. He or she can let you know exactly what needs to happen in order to continue your education at your current school.
