GPA and Internship/Job

So I'm currently a Junior at Villanova University, with a 2.5GPA studying civil/environmental egr. I have a fair # of ECs, most leadership/director positions, but only one job related experience-a research assistant in the water resources lab.

First, what are the odds that i can get a internship for this coming summer with my relatively low GPA.

Second, what about the future - how much does GPA end up counting for when applying for jobs post-graduation? I wasn't really intending on going to grad school, especially because i don't think i could get into a good university with my grades.

Thanks in advance

bump.. c'mon someone has to have some input

My feeling is that if the economy does not improve, GPA will have a little more weight. But, if you try hard enough, you can always get a job! (of some sort)

It'll be hard, not impossible. You'll have to do a lot of leg work in securing an interview for an internship.

You'll also have a tough time getting your first job without prior experience + low GPA...network! Honestly, that's the easiest way to get a job/internship. After your first job, GPA will matter less.
