GPA and Sat/ACT

Ok guys I have this problem my GPA is quite low (2.6), but the good news is I have really high ACT/SAT scores (33)/2230. I have always been good at standardized testing and the GPA comes from me being very lazy when it comes to school work. So I just wondering how you guys think colleges might take this (will it go well or bad)

Keep in mind I have an excellent extracurricular activity record

BE HONEST!!!

You do realize that if you had worked harder in high school and gotten a decent gpa, you could be a decent applicant for any school, right?

Anyway;
A 2.6 is very low (about an 81, right?), but I’m sure that you’ll be accepted somewhere, especially if you have a lot of strong EC’s.

What do you mean by “somewhere”?

You’ll get into a lot of state schools no problem, and a bunch of the less selective privates too. But a 2.6 is likely going to keep you out of top schools (I’m talking Ivy, Chicago, Stanford). If I were you I wouldn’t expect to get in there. But you still could get into a ton of publics. I know someone who got into the Univ. of Illinois with a <2.0 GPA. So don’t be discouraged! You will get in somewhere.

i don’t think you stand a really good shot of getting into any good private institutions without at least a 3.2, what blackandyellow said
