GPA averages for UC Davis and Irvine?

<p>Hi,</p>

<p>I was wondering what the gpa and sat averages are for undergrad admissions for UC Davis and Irvine.</p>

<p>I saw on the respective colleges websites that they were 4.0 and 4.01. Are these the accepted students' averages, or those who end up attending the schools? Because wouldn't most of the people that apply to Berkeley, LA and SD also apply to Davis and Irvine as backups, thus inflating the scores?</p>

<p>Because when I looked up the average gpa and sat scores on Princeton Review's website, it showed that Davis's average was 3.9 and Irvine's was 3.85.</p>

<p>Can someone please clarify and tell me what the averages really are for sat and gpa?

<p>The UC calculate GPA differently. UC’s only use sophmore and junior classes and add in up to 8 extra honors/ ap credits. The average UC GPA for Irvine is 4.01, for Davis is 4.00 for class of 2009.
(P.s. I just got into irvine with 4.18 uc gpa but its not that goodof a school)</p>
