So I am currently a freshman in HS. I had a question about GPA. Do you use this:https://pages.collegeboard.org/how-to-convert-gpa-4.0-scale to convert your overall average to the 4.0 scale, or do you average up all your classes?
(I had all classes 94+, except one 88, what would this roughly be on the 4.0?)
You do it class by class. So if you had 6 94+ and 1 88, it would be a 3.90.
How good would a 3.86ish be at Stuyvesant?
For what? For college admissions? It’s too early to tell - you’ve only finished freshman year. The Stuyvesant school counseling office has plenty of experience advising students on colleges - they are your best resource for your specific situation.
Also note, for college admissions, you don’t convert GPA unless the college requests (which most don’t). You report the GPA scale used by the HS.
For Ivys, my goal is Harvard (I am a rising sophomore)
See my above answer. Also tagging @gibby who is familiar with both Stuyvesant and Harvard/Yale.
Also anyone have tips to increase my GPA/Study tips, cause Im gonna need to study next year (as I dont study at all (except for finals))
