GPA conversion for Scholarship OU

I completed my OU scholarship applications on time, and believe I am eligible for the "NONRESIDENT DISTINGUISHED SCHOLAR" scholarship (28,000 over 4 years). You are eligible if you have a 1290-1350 SAT AND a GPA of 3.75. It says it is based on 4.0 non-weighted scale. I will graduate with a 3.4-3.5 at a public High School in Texas. I'm not sure what our GPA scale is, but I know that we have students with GPAs above 4.0. Can anyone tell if I'm eligible for this?

Almost certainly your 3.4-3.5 weighted or unweighted is not going to match OU’s GPA of 3.75 unweighted.

Think of it this way. 3.75 means that for all of your graded classes, regardless of Honors, AP, etc. difficulty, you must get 3 A’s for every B. Or 7 A’s for every C.

Your 3.45 is either unweighted, making it lower than 3.75 or if it is already weighted, your unweighted score is even lower than 3.45.

The GPAs above 4.0 in my kids Texas HS are for extra points they get taking AP classes. Our scoring is very strange, but I hope that clears it up for you. You may want to look at New Mexico/NM State. I cannot remember, but one of them may give you a good package.

Okay. Looking back it makes sense that my GPA wouldn’t qualify wither way lol. Thanks for the replies!
