GPA for out of state transfer

Hello. I am currently at a small public college in Illinois and I want to transfer to UT Austin. I currently have a 3.38 GPa. I am hoping to raise it to around a 3.6 after the fall semester. Would this be high enough for a chance at UT. I am an English major and would be applying to the college of liberal arts and sciences btw. I know they also look at letters of recommendation and your essays, but is want to know if a 3.6 would be a high enough gpa or whether I shouldn't even bother

Can someone please respond

Bump

Yes 3.6 can get you in liberal arts. But try harder to raise or higher. They have a great English program, but if you can’t raise your gpa higher than 3.5+ you are screwed

I’ve read that the average transfer GPA is 3.6. I know the standards for mccombs and their engineering school are higher, but from what I’ve read a 3.6 will give me a good chance for COLA.

Is a 3.6 GPA, along with solid letters of recommendation and essays good enough to transfer in to COLA from out of state. My major is English. Is there anything I can do to improve my chances and make me more competitive?
