GPA for top tier transfer schools

Obviously many things play out besides this, but since schools like Harvard, Duke, Stanford, etc all probably have a lot of talented transfer applications, what are the GPA averages?

Probably 3.8+ for most schools of that calibre, but if you already at a top tier school, I'm sure they'll count that into your GPA too. Wow, Harvard, Duke, Stanford... They'll be real toughies.

It depends on how strong you were in high school, where you are applying from, and how good your ECs are. Also, some schools are much easier to transfer into than others, for example yale is much harder to get into as a transfer then harvard.

Is Brown considered atop tier transfer school? And is Berkeley a good school to transfer from? I mean, enough for them to take that fact into account when making their decision

Brown's a top-tier, that's for sure. I think for Brown though, it's possible that the fact that you are going to apply to financial aid is going to matter more than the fact that you're coming from Berkeley.

All people that I know who made it to Harvard and Stanford had 3.8 - 4.00. The statistics, however, show that a lower GPA also works sometimes.
What's wrong with Berkeley? I'd love to go there; only if I could afford it...

i am at a school that is notorious for grade deflation, have a 3.63 first semester (3 As, 1 A-, 1 B- in a 300 level class that I realize killed me). had a 3.8 or so senior year in HS, 3.6 year before, 3.4 year before that. 1580 sat if that matters.

of the ivies, which is easiest to get into? brown id think

yeah, brown should be the easiest for you. From one hippie community to another :P

imdashep which school do you goto? berkeley?

no william and mary. i am debating applying to brown, but wondering what % the other schools would be at
