[GPA] If you get A- (3.7) in your first college class, is it ever possible to get 4.0 again?

I got A- in my first college class, is it possible for me to get 4.0 by getting As in all future class? If it is possible, what can I do? Or is it essentially impossible? Because I want to transfer to a higher ranking school, which one is more important for transfer admission, is it how rigorous the courses are or simply GPA?

Thanks! I feel really desperate right now! Any input will be appreciated :)

No, it isn’t, unless your school counts A+ as 4.3. But in my experience schools usually treat A+ the same as A (4.0).

I wouldn’t worry about it too much. 4.0 is a ridiculous expectation for many majors/schools, it’s not like highschool where everyone can get an A all the time. Even a B isn’t going to kill your transfer chances… just do your best, and remember that non-A grades aren’t the end of the world.

Just work hard. Don’t worry about the grades. A few tenths of a point won’t kill you. If you keep getting the grades you’re getting you will do very well.

No, it’s not possible. But you could bring it up to a 3.99 if you ace all of your other classes.
