I'm a high school graduate from Trinidad and Tobago, I have a gpa of about roughly 3.17 do I have any chances of getting to a college in the US? I'm taking the SAT exam on October 11 in hopes of getting a scholarship but my main concern is my gpa. Do I have any chances in being accepted to any colleges because of my low gpa? Please help, I'm really starting to get anxious about not getting accepted. Thanks :)

State universities(except good ones like NYU and UVa) don’t have super high requirements, but can you pay first?

AP courses?
ECs?
ability of pay?
Extenuating circumstances?

All those four factors will affect your chances of getting in US colleges.

What part of the country are looking for schools? Do you need FA? Merit aid would be difficult with your GPA even with great SAT scores. Have you tried the SuperMatch feature on this website? Input location, major, GPA, test scores etc… it will post schools that meet your criteria. It is possible to get into a US college, but you have answer all these questions and then CC’ers can help.
