i have a 3.26 weighted GPA, my school has no such thing as B-,C-,A- etc. so on my transcript that i will send to colleges it will just say A,B or C my question is that how colleges will calculate it or will they use a C- and B-, it is worth noting i am looking at public schools in Ohio and WV

If they are only given whole grades without pluses or minuses, that’s what they will use to evaluate your classes and calculate your gpa. There’s no way for them to tell if a B is a B, a B- or a B+, so it’s just a B.

thanks ! so that means they don’t convert my gpa by doing regular 5.0 to 4.0 sinc ethere is no - ?

Most (all?) colleges use a 4 pt scale; A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0.

For admissions, there is no minus if your HS does not report minuses.

Don’t confuse this with the college’s own grading system. When taking their college classes, some schools do have minus and plus grades while others don’t.

BTW, colleges will ask for your UW GPA.

yeah my first choice school said they just will calculate it when i send in my GPA which helps cause on the minus scale i have a 2.7ish but if you dont use it i have a 2.92

Many colleges don’t recalculate at all. They just look at the transcript for what they want.

My school does the same thing: it doesn’t matter whether I receive a 98% or a 90%. All my transcript will list is ‘A’. So it will most likely be calculated like this:
A: 4
B: 3
C: 2
D: 1
F: 0
They’ll find the average of that, or it will be listed on your transcript already.
