hey, I was wondering how the process for most college GPA recalculating works. I talked to a school in Massachusetts (Curry) and they have a system where they cut out all buffer courses, don't add in honors courses, and weight your AP grades up a letter grade, so a B looks like an A. Is this how it works for most schools, or are they just an exception?

It really depends on the school. And some don't recalculate at all.

Im pretty sure many schools do..

can anyone confirm whether top tier schools do?

Johns Hopkins recalculates your GPA on a 4.0 scale and the UCs only calculate the UC-Approved courses in your GPA and give you only 8 semesters of honors/AP bonus points (the other semesters are counted as normal). That's all I know, sorry.

I'm specifically looking for University of Delaware, but I don't think anyone would know that.

I hate my Freshman GPA.
