How are GPA's scaled? I know out of a 4.0, however, what would a 2.9 be? (like B+ - 89 ... ect)

i think it's different at every school. for us, A = 4.0, A- 3.7, B+ 3.3, B 3.0, B- 2.7, C+ 2.3...

Anyone else?

I think colleges consider your class rank as well as your GPA because of the vast differences in grading in high schools.

does it go like this?

A - 4.0
B - 3.0
C - 2.0

Yes, that's it.

is it the same for all places?

nope... at my school its like this:

4.0 - 95-100
3.5 - 90-94
3.0 - 85-89
2.5- 80-84
2.0- 75-79
1.5- 70-74
1.0- 64-69

4.0 - 95-100
3.5 - 90-94
3.0 - 85-89

wow... that's pretty harsh imo
