gpa transfer

Does anyone know if your gpa will transfer from another school?

no it does not...you have to have a C or better in all of ur classes for those to transfer, as long as they are transferrable classes..you start a new gpa over once you get to tulane, and those classes are listed on your transcript as transferred from, just showing the tulane class equivalent and the credits its worth

haha sweet, i guess there'd be no point in stressing too much about finals then

I guess not--unless, of course, you ever want to go to grad school or do anything else where they might look at your transcript.

haha I didnt mean to say that I wouldnt be paying any attention at all to my exams, just that I dont think I'm going to let them stress me out quite as much as I would have normally...but I wonder, would these classes show up with an actual letter grade on my Tulane transcript, or would they simply show up as credit earned (aka as the tulane equivalent), with no grade beside them...kinda similar to the way that AP credit shows up as their college equivlent with no letter grade

If you study and then relax for the exams, you'll probably even do BETTER on them. ;-)

Why not get the answer from the registrar's office at Tulane so you know the real deal and post it here so other transfer students will know the answer, too?

it just shows the course and credit amount, no grade

If you go to Law School you will have to submit transcripts from every college you attended and they will compute a GPA for you based on every course you have ever taken. Then unlike undergraduate admissions most schools will place near total total weight on your GPA and LSAT. Most anything else they look at apart from URM status they will be looking at to knock you out of the selection pool not to bump you up in it unless you have some really impressive recommendations.

I don't know if Med School and Graduate school are as numbers driven as Law school, but I know they are a whole lot more numbers driven than undergraduate admission so I wouldn't slack if you have any intention of continuing beyond undergrad.

All post graduate programs will want to see full transcripts from any colleges you attended. So even if Tulane doesn't calculate in your previous gpa,
it WILL matter. Highlead is right.

hmm well thanks for the help...obviously not the answer i wanted lol, but yea

lol no problem
