Okay, so here's my big question since I've heard so many things from different people. I know McGill only cares about GPAs and SAT scores, but isn't it true that if you meet the min. scores for the SAT scores, they focus on your GPA and the courses you took?

Well, it depends. As you said, they're a VERY merit-based admissions system, but as they say on the site, "meeting the minimum scores won't guarantee admission." So, I'm assuming that means that yes they do look closely at GPA but they also look at your sat scores since you're probably applying from the US? That is, if you're applying to any faculty (major) besides music, you need sat scores and they are judged very competitively (if you are a music major then they just care about audition...but that's it!)
