Hi! I'm currently a rising junior in high school. My GPA is currently horrendous (90/100 UW, 95/100 W) But the last SAT practice test I took I got a 2230 (760 CR, 720 M, 750 WR) which I thought was decent. I have decent ECs with leadership, and about 200 volunteer hours. I would probably apply ED, as well. Do these make up for my atrocious GPA so far?

I hope this is a ■■■■■ post.

If not, your GPA isn’t bad at all.

Wow I really hate the out of 100 grading scale. My school doesn’t have it and I hate it. Based on other people I have seen on here a 90 isn’t horrendous its just on the low side. I heard that AP scores are the first thing colleges consider followed by SAT and ACT. So do well in your APs and you should be fine.

…AP test scores are not even required to be submitted to Cornell as part of your application so they can not be weighed heavily, or at all in admission.

Ok. I was going off that thing that the president of Yale said.

Both GPA and SAT are considered important. I don’t think one is more important than the other. Maybe if everything else about your application is good, a good GPA could kind of make up for bad scores, or vice versa.

Considering different schools grade differently, a 90 at your school may equal a 95 at mine. That being said, it could also equal an 85. I think as long as you have solid standardized test scores and course rigor, you’ll be okay.
