<p>Does notre dame recalculate your GPA and take out electives?</p>
<p>Also, I am one of several people at my school who is applying...and I was wondering how much they rank against the other people. I've heard a rumor that Notre Dame takes one kid from each regional catholic school (like mine...and it's been true the last few times), and I'm worried that I'm not the best applicant at my school.</p>

<p>this is not true. 12 kids from my school have already gotten in and I am one of them.</p>
<p>I don't believe they recalculate your GPA by taking out electives. I remember when I applied, that they said if your GPA wasn't on a 4.0 scale they would look at the scale your school used, take that into account and rescale your GPA so that it would reflect 4.0 scale.</p>
<p>As to the maximum number....NO there is no quota per school or region. My HS had 52 graduate in my class...had 12 or 13 apply here, about eight made it in, and of those 8, six ended up coming. After all St. Joseph High school is across US 31 from ND and they end up sending between 20-30 of their seniors to this school every year alone...</p>
<p>ND does not recalculate GPA's, an admissions counselor specifically told me this. she said it would take far too long for the admissions staff to this. for this reason, class rank is very important to ND, and if one is not given, the students GPA basically is meaningless to the person reading your application. </p>
