I’m a freshman at BU and I am honestly not doing as well as I should. I got a 3.08 GPA my first semester, and it’s so frustrating because I tried really hard. And to add to that, I’m in CGS, which is known as the “dumb” school. As of now, I basically get straight B’s, and have no idea how to improve because I feel like I’m working as hard as I could already. Any suggestions? Thanks!

BU is notorious for grade deflation - if you are planning on going to a prestigious grad school, I suggest you transfer.

No, I’m not planning on going to grad school, I’m just worried for job applications.

Jobs don’t care about your GPA - they just care that you got a degree and have some experience with internships and such.

Some employers have a minimum cutoff for GPA, usually 3.0, before they give you an interview.

Ok, thank you!
