Hello, I am new here. I am not sure if this topic belongs here, sorry if it doesn't.

What score ranges do most high schools considered an A, 90-100? In my school, 94-100 is considered an A, and 86-93 is considered a B. I have been slacking off on my freshman and sophomore years with a 3.38 and 3.25. I am hoping to get all "A"s on my junior and senior years to raise my GPA up to a 3.65. If most school considered an A to be 90-100, does my GPA impact me a lot?

You are expected to perform well in the context of your school’s grading scale, though they may take the rigor of your grading system into account somewhat.

If an A is a 94 at your school then you need a 94 for an A. Your GPA will be considered in the context of your school (i.e. if a 93 is the valedictorian).

I am so sorry that your school considers a 93 a B, not only is that absurd and idiotic but they are also lowering their students chances to get into top colleges. Most of the time my A’s are below a 94, and for colleges an A is an A. If your school records on your transcript otherwise than colleges will see it that way. My school consider’s and A 90-100, and depending on the teacher 89.5+. It’s absolutely rediculous if you ask me that your school does that. Essentially your school is just deflating GPA’s, and what could have been a prestigous 4.0 at your school might be a frowned upon 3.0. I’m sorry for my reaction but I’m truely shocked that a 94 is considered an A.

Good luck with that school, and try not to punch the principle next time you see him/her after discovering that normal school’s consder 90%'s an A (I know I would!)
