Grad in 3, or Transfer and Grad in 4/5

Ok, here is my situation.

I am currently at UC Davis, but I am thinking of transferring to Stern.

If I were to stay at Davis, I could graduate in 3, or at most 3.5 years b/c of units I had taken during HS.

However, if I transfer to NYU Stern I'm pretty sure a lot of units would not transfer and I would probably have to redo some stuff over again.

Currently, I'm in the top 3% of my college and year, so I believe that I will be able to get a good job after graduation. However, I noticed that the median salary coming out of Stern was 52k or something, that's 12k more than the median for Davis, in the "Finance/Banking" field.

Do you guys think it would be worth it to transfer? Would my job opportunities be much higher after graduating from Stern?

...OF COURSE!!!!!! UC Davis, in terms of finance, ranking, alumni, etc., is far lesser in comparison to Stern. Graduating in 4/5 years is nothing.

Not to sound cliche but, take that extra 4/5 years to grad. and reap the rewards for the rest of your life...

picture it this way... how many finance companies are there in the land of the cows... vs how many finance companies are right down the street from NYU in midtown manhattan?

there's your answer.

haha, good point guys. Thanks for the replies

either way, you're depriving yourself out of a true college experience and focusing on the numbers too much--but that's not the point.

that said, 4-5 at a superior program with far better academic surroundings and networks will benefit you much greater in the long run.
i go to ucsb and i was in the same situation and this is the sense i get from all those i ask.
