Hey guys would it be a really stupid idea transfering from NYU CAS to better business programs like Wharton or USC Marshal etc? cause i heard CAS kids gets no love in the job markets as stern kids gets first dips? and exactly how hard is it to transfer out of NYU to Wharton (my dream school)

i mean, it’s a pretty large job market. . .

and there are only so many Sternies.

it’s not like CAS kids are lepers in the business world or something. i don’t understand why you won’t even give it a chance first.

i’m probably have to go, is not worth the risk of waiting for the UCs and pray i get in UCSD + Just the damn cost holy ****! and the risk of not getting a job in NYC is diastrous…

econ is like the most popular major in cas, and a popular college major in general…nyu has strong econ programs. it’s not like you’re not going to get a job in the business world because you didn’t go to stern. you don’t need a specific degree to go into business; you can study humanities, social sciences, whatever. for example, many math/physics majors go into finance because they have strong quantitative backgrounds and employers know they’re smart. you don’t need a finance degree to do finance (although having a Stern finance degree is quite helpful :)) And you’re in HS - by the time you graduate in 2014, the economy will be different. Who knows how you’ll like living in NYC? who knows how much you’ll even like NYU? your goals in life at age 22 will be very different from your high school worldviews

based on your other thread about taking out $200k to go here, I would bluntly say that’s a very stupid thing to do. no college is worth that crushing amount of debt. I’m being honest because there are so many nyu students who don’t think things through and become miserable with debt or are forced to transfer. Re-read the comments in that thread from nyu students. But you did apply ED so it might be hard to get out of that…hope everything works out.

thanks alix, ugh my mind is like so chaotic right now, no clue what i’m going to do, grrr… can’t turn NYU down… yet dont want to take on that much debt have a misery college life and have a even worst post-college life risking not being able to find a job with college loan payments of 1800 a month… thats going to suck.

I agree. I’m so scared for that much debt…
But I applied ED so I’m stuck with it!
