Grad School for Econ?

Realistically I'm going to end up going to grad school within a few years of getting my B.S. As of now, I'd really like to settle into academia, but I'm unsure of where I should start focusing on applying and building my resume toward. Right now I have five schools on my mind (ranked in order of desirability):

-Princeton
-London School of PoliSci and Econ
-University of Michigan
-University of Chicago
-Michigan State University

A bit about my undergrad degree:
Michigan State University (anticipating graduating with honors)
Major: Economics (B.S.)
Minor: Mathematics
I plan on having about two years of research under my belt too by the time I apply for these schools.

Obviously cost and selectivity play a role in my decision, but which school would best support a career in academia?

You are probably looking at Princeton, London, and Chicago all cluster in the top tier. Michigan would be farther down the list, then MSU farther down from that. But the important thing in getting a PhD is finding a mentor that fits your research interest and with whom you click.
