Grade Appeal, anybody successful. Anybody unsuccessful? Here's mines in progress.. **DRAMA WARNING**

In reality, litigation is expensive and would not be worthwhile to help a student get a few extra credit points.

The thing about extra credit is that it needs to be offered to everyone. Not offering it to everyone can be the motivation for a grade appeal. It wasn’t clear to me if this was in the original syllabus.

Your college is likely to have a process for the grade appeal. You might find out what the next step is if you aren’t getting satisfaction from the professor or department chair. See if there is an ombudsman or ombudsperson to help you.

Stop making tape recordings of the professor or chair. It is creepy.

Cheddar- I know somebody personally who is doing a litigation. I believe that everyone needs to watch what they say, especially one who carries power.
Where did I say that it wasn’t offered to everyone else? But you can’t really force people to do what they dont want to do.

“Stop making voice recordings”
No, I’m recording everything.

I now understand why your professor is not increasing your grade. I teach law school and it’s always the marginal students complain the most.

Deaston- So you grade people based on who you like the most? To be straight forward-- It doesn’t matter how you personally feel. You grade a student based on the work they gave you according to the guidelines. People like you are the reason grade appeals exist.

No, I grade according to performance based on specific criteria. However, I will go the extra mile for a student who is respectful, hard-working, and not entitled.

^ That’s quite the leap to conclusions. Deaston said nothing of the sort, so cut out the personal attacks.

MODERATOR’S NOTE: I don’t think there’s anything we can add to help the OP. Closing thread.

@LintLicker with your attitude, your boss may have the same issues as your professors. Take ownership of your B and move on.
