Grade Deflation for PreMeds?

Ok so I’m deciding between NYU and Brandeis, but lots of people are telling me that the science courses at Brandeis are deflated and that professors hate giving good grades and that the kids in pre-med at Brandeis are ubercompetitive up to the point that they will actually harm a student to get a better grade… Is this true?

No

Not true at all. If anything, the grades at Brandeis are slightly inflated. In most science classes, the average is curved to a B- or a B. It is fairly normal for the average on tests to be in the 60’s, but they always have a generous curve at the end. Pre-med students are actually not that cut throat at Brandeis, it’s definitely worse at other schools. Many pre-med students study together for exams and are alway willing to help each other out when it comes to school work.
