I attended Harvard Summer School in 2006 between soph and jr. years. i took intro to bio and did horribly (C). i put it on my common app under the colleges attended, but i instantly regret this decision. will this really hurt me in my admissions decisions? help please i'm such a loser!Q!!

at least colleges will see you didn't waste your summer.

but in respect to the grade, will that be the end of my chances at a competitive school?

Wow. I took the same class at Harvard Summer School. Does William Fixsen (sp?) still teach the class?

Anyway, do they require you to list the grade or submit a transcript? If not, then it's obviously not a problem. BTW, it wasn't a mistake to list Harvard under colleges attended because you are required to do so.

It will probably hurt you, though, especially if you are planning to major in math or science. It won't hurt you as much if you take another difficult summer course in science or math the year after and get an "A" though.

what impact do B's in summer courses at equally prestigious universities have? Are they neutral?

bump, anyone?

Yeah Fixsen still teaches it, funny guy.. but yeah, they don't require per se, but i suppose if they ask for a transcript i guess i'll send it. . . . i just hope they take into consideration my age for when that course was taken, there were only like 10 other rising jrs in that class, the rest were rising seniors and college kids from everywhere. . . .

but if he doesn't sumbit the transcript or grade, he should be fine right?

Have you EVER seen a college application that doesn't ask for complete transcripts of all previous secondary and higher education studies?

Do people who attend these "Harvard" camps have a higher chance of getting in?

Lolz.

the commonapp didn't say to forward harvard summer school grades

Well, on the Common Application there is one question that says,

Then there is a next question that says,

The application ends with a certification statement for you to sign that says,

[quote=Common Application] I certify that all information submitted in the admission processincluding the application, the Personal Essay, any supplements, and any supporting materialsis my own work, factually true, and honestly presented. I understand that I may be subject to disciplinary action, including admission revocation or expulsion, should the information Ive certified be false.
