Grade Inflation...

Are Yales grades inflated like Columbia, or deflated like Princeton???

Probably more of a inflation thing than a deflation thing, but still, there are various classes in which you can do all the work, study as hard as you possibly can, and still not get that coveted 'A' grade.

A few teachers like to be zealots and personally combat grade inflation, though in most classes, a B+/A- is the grade you're aiming for.

is History considered a hard major there?

I know that their calc classes are incredibly hard. They require a great deal of work, and many struggle to get an a. However even here they are inflated. My friend had 70's in his test, and ended up with an A-. Many kids talk of beating the curve for classes.

what do freshman have to take?

at yale? nothing specific.

we just have to have two of the following- a writing intensive, a language, or a quantitative reasoning class.

what is the highest math you have to take
