What is your view on the idea that success can begin with failure? In an essay, support your position using an example (or examples) from literature, the arts, history, current events, politics, science and technology, or from your personal experience or observation.

It is certainly the case that success can begin with failure. Recently, I've experienced this myself in my swimming career. Last winter, I had an absolutely horrible season. I was multiple seconds off my personal best times in many events. Meet after meet, I would continually be disappointed by my failures. Depressed and at the verge of giving up, my coached helped me stand back up on my feet. I took careful note on the details of my stroke: was my timing of the kick correct? Do i need to reach farther in every stroke? After deconstructing every part of my stroke and rebuilding it corrects, I began to see small improvements. I regained my confidence and those small improvements snowballed into great ones. I qualified fro meets that I ever imagined I would be able to compete at. Now, being a nation level swimmer, I owe much of my success to the great failure I began with.
I can say that my major setback this past winter is the greatest thing that has happened to me. I learned so much from that single experience that made me a better person not just in swimming. I learned to not give up when everything seems to be tumbling down and to have confidence in myself. Paying attention to the slightest details and working hard towards my goal paid off in the end. After hitting rock bottom and now tasting the glory of my success, my achievement feels all the more better. Ironically, the best success does indeed come from the greatest failures.
