I'm thinking it's around a 4?

Topic: Is our world changing for the better

Essay:
Progress. it's what humans have been striving for for millions of years. Whether it be societal progress or technological progress, humans have existed to change things for the better. Since the first caveman set flame to wood, humanity has been improving for the better. Our world today is changing for the better and it's evident from both a scientific and technological viewpoint.

Scientists have found ways to manipulate nature in order to make our lives easier. The recent technological advancements have brought the world closer together and it's easier than ever to share news in an instant. Now, peopel living in the United States can read about the politics in Hong Kong instantly. People can keep in tough with family and friends with the help of the internet. Our world has become to interconnected that it's almost impossible to stay un-informed. That s a change for the better.

Nature, to, benefits from the changes our world is going through. With people becoming more aware about the harmful impacts humans have on the environment, people have become much more eco-friendly. Hybrid and electric cars are becoming more popular. Solar and wind energies are becoming much more efficient. In fact, according to the EPA , the use of renewable resources has increased 75% since 2000. Humans are making the change into more eco-friendly habits; something that will help us all breath a bit easier.

Even our society has been changing for the better. We have become increasingly egalitarian and many stereotypes are being shattered. From the woman rights movement in the 1920's , to the civil rights movement in the 1960's, to the gay rights movement today, , we are slowly, but surely, making progress towards an equal society.

Our world still has alot to learn. There is new technology waiting to be unlocked, our environment is in need of a lot of clean up and people are still treated unfairly. However, today's' world is a far cry from the slave-owning, superstitious world of yesteryear. We are moving forward. We are not stuck in a rut. We are changing. Changing into a much better version of us.

I’d say high 3 low 4. Introduction was quite good, but evidence wasn’t too compelling and the conclusion isn’t very useful in your argument. You also have punctuation and spelling errors, but I’m guessing those are from typing up the essay and not actually present in your writing.

use active voice

You seem like a good writer the intro, but your approaching the essay wrong color this guide, it has gotten me a 10 on every essay even with hard promts

No need for crazy historic examples either, just use one academic and one personal example.

ok that makes sense thanks!

Don’t actually use personal examples - my scores on the SAT essay have never benefited from those (2400 on the SAT, 11 on the essay…). My brother, who’s worked as an SAT tutor, told me to try to use all empirical evidence - historical/present notable figures, historical events, countries, religious developments. Barring that, literature is a good way to go, especially from classics such as Great Expectations and Middlemarch.
