Grades

I know Notre Dame, along with any other university, would be thrilled to see students that have received A's in AP classes. But, what about B's? Or a C (or two) during Sophomore and Junior years?

Make sure your EC's are stellar and try to get those test scrores up...........if you find this encouraging, I got in with A LOT of B's freshman yr.........UW 3.74.......W4.35

Son's HS did not offer AP classes in the strict sense of the word "AP classes". The AP curriculum was not followed even tho students were encouraged to study and take AP exams. I would not get too hooked on AP--further I would also encourage you to consider that it is my opinion that ND looks at the whole app--not just grades! As hopeful said, ECs are important just as the essay and test scores. Try to keep things in perspective and do the best you possibly can, if ND is a school you are considering. Good Luck!

I got in with a D+ in AP Physics first quarter. Granted, the teacher doesn't believe in grades and my guidance counselor sent a letter about how absurd the course is, but still. I think ND is very reasonable and understanding about that sort of stuff.

there's no real answer to this. they look at the "whole picture" and make a choice. sometimes the choice isn't even because you aren't qualified, they just don't have enough spots
