Hi I'm currently a second year have junior standing (had it since summer session 2011) and I'm a political science major. I'm in the process of petitioning for a double major. Without the double major I will graduate in 3 years. However, since I'm picking up the second major I'll be graduating in the normal 4 years. Since by the end of this year I'll have senior status I was wondering during my 4th year will I be able to take graduate courses for political science? I know that at some universities if you have completed almost all of the courses for your major you can take a graduate course. Is this true for UCSD as well?
Thanks in advanced

You can take graduate courses anytime, but you need consent from 1) the department and 2) the professor teaching the course.

If you’re considering Poli Sci for a PhD, I’d advise you to actually take a Microeconomics/Game Theory or Formal Modeling course since your field (whether one likes it or not) is becoming more and more quant- and analytics-heavy.

Taking a game theory course with Slantchev would be a good start.
