Graduate in 3 or 4 years?

Hey folks.

Freshman Accounting major here. I've got two options in front of me I'd like your opinion on what you'd go with. I'm pretty passionate about accounting so I know that's what I want to do. I'm double majoring to hopefully have a slight edge in the job market. The options are

Graduate in 4 years with a major in Accounting and Information Technology double major.
I've heard about accounting information system jobs that pay well and I was wondering if this is a good set up.

Graduate in 3 years with Accounting and Business Administration double major. Possible minor in IT

I'm wondering if this is more applicable to gaining leadership and moving up in a business. Then having some side computer skills.

What do yall' think?

Thanks!

Tough decision. I, similar to you, graduated with two majors one being accounting. Try to determine the career you want and see which combo will get you there. Even if you change your mind, business/IT are very beneficial in many careers.

Easy choice. 4 years. Never cut college short. I repeat, NEVER cut it short.

Do you believe I should go for 4 years because of the major. Or just being there 4 years for the experience of college? Thanks

Experience.

If you like IT, then it is a great match for accounting. However, your career goals determine the route.

I second that. NEVER CUT COLLEGE SHORT. You’d probably get better grades if you spread out your credits for a 4-year term. Plus schools give you lots of neat experience opportunities that will help boost your resume. Plus, enjoy being young while you can :stuck_out_tongue: It’s a time to learn about yourself. Baby steps and patience.

Thanks guys, that honestly helped a lot. I am sticking out the 4 years. But I believe I’m going to double major Accounting with Business administration with a finance focus, then minor in IT. That’ll be pretty achievable for me in 4 years and I think it’s a great balance. Open to any more opinions though!
