I dont Know if this is the appropriate place to post this, but I’ve seen great advice in the wedding threads. So I am linking what I’m thinking of for my professional school graduation outfit, please don’t hesitate to comment :
Also, I have had a lot of issues throughout my higher education, and was finally diagnosed bipolar 2 recently, which has led to a big improvement, so please feel free to ask me about that also, as I have read a lot of threads with issues with students
Will your graduation be virtual or in person? Do graduates of your program wear cap and gown over their dresses?
I ask because DD graduated virtually from professional school. The school prepared a slide of each student in a pic with that cap and gown on that the student sent in. They could have been wearing pajamas underneath and it wouldn’t have mattered.
Even at an in person graduation, DD would have been wearing a gown over her dress.
Will you be able to comfortably walk the distances you need to in those shoes? Will there be a lot if standing and walking? I know I could never last any length of time in shoes my feet are uncomfortable in.
I think so, there is not much walking involved except walking on the stage to get your diploma
Also, they are not as high as they seem because the front has a platform. But I do plan to have pretty ballet type shoes in my mum’s bag just in case :). I plan to buy them early so I can see how they work out
Another practical thought, be sure the skirt is long enough and hangs well so that there won’t be any unfortunate views as you walk up and down the stairs to the stage. I remember a high school event when a girl wore an adorable dress that poofed a bit too much at the hem.
Very pretty dress! Are professional school graduation outfits typically formal/dressy? (I have never been to one, so I was assuming more of a business attire)
Thank you all for your replies :). Do you have any suggestions for a purse to match the shoes ? I have family in the US so don’t mind if it’s an american brand
I’m a logistics worrier. Will you bring the purse up on stage with you to get a diploma? Or just keep it at your seat? Then answer may influence your style choice.
Thank you for all these things I hadn’t thought of :). I would leave it on the seat, or it would be awkward to receive the diploma, the sash and the professional card allowing me to work with a purse to add to the equation
