how about "those were the days"...old but it definitely belongs on top of the list!

ours is some Yellowcard song and I think it's Miles Apart but I'm not sure. I know it's one of the songs at the end of the CD. I tought it was quite the interesting coice because my school is mostly African American and I didn't realize that dorky punk rock was in. Whatever.

My graduation song was 'Hallelujah' by Jeff Buckley. It's a great song, and we thought it suited the occasion.
I kinda wanted Pink Floyd's 'Another Brick In The Wall'... :p

hm. i always thought Today was sort of ironic and bitter and sarcastic..always interpreted it as being about suicide...not exactly the best graduation theme. i mean, its billy corgan, i dont think he's actually talking about the "greatest day of his life" unless he's being bitterly sarcastic about the world...which is what we all love him for anyway

any other suggestions?

The most perfect Graduation song ever - Forever Young (Bob Dylan or Rod Stewart...both good versions...slightly different)

Are there any more modern suggestions?

The times they are a changing - bob dylan

classic hehee.

I know Forever Young isn't exactly modern but read these lyrics:
May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful,
May your song always be sung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

and if necessary, you can just cut out the mention of god.

plus its really really pretty and not that hard to sing, if you guys have to sing your song
