I am trying out to be the salutatorian speaker at my school. We don't follow tradition and make the second-highest-ranked student salutatorian. The school has a different procedure for this. That being said, I am competing against one other person for being able to speak. I have already written my speech, but I don't know if I talked about the right things. What are some good topics to talk about in the speech?

What did you talk about in your speech?

The hardest thing to do in a graduation speech is convey your words in a whole new way that’s not tired, cliched, or cheesy. So as long as you avoided crap like “These were the best 4 years of our lives!” and “As we progress through life, we will take the knowledge we have learned at Your High School Here and apply it toward our future endeavors” then you should be on the right track.

Academic stratification, academic darwinism, the value of hard work, how much fun you’ve had, random-generic-feel-good-topics.

just do a rap and leave

^ That works too.

rickroll graduation

Take five shots and wing it.

But no seriously just make it funny. Make them want to hear what you’re going to say next.

do some sheldon-esque big bang theory science jokes:

A neutron walks into a bar and asks, “how much for a bud light?” and the bartender replies, “for you, no charge!”

bump please

How about the “Are you okay? I’m positive.” electron/proton joke?

Just use some inside jokes from your school. My school’s val. made fun of some weird things that happened and some weird polices. A few years ago some rapped. Just make it interesting.
