I Need help. Can anyone recommend a good university with both Graphic Design and Marketing as strengths? I love graphic arts, but dont want to be in an Art School, so I want to apply 2D design to busines issues,ie, advertising, communication, etc. I am fishing for information on schools people have found that are strong in both areas. Thanks.

Wisconsin has a top 10 marketing program and offers graphic design in the art dept…

My sister is a graphic design major. I know that KU and Tulsa have two of the strongest graphic design programs in the nation.

USc, Carnegie Mellon, Cal Poly-Slo have strong art departments and business schools. Don’t get so caught up on majors as in “marketing” or “graphic design” because often times non-art schools will just call majors like graphic design communication design or maybe offer a graphic concentration under the art department. The same thing with marketing, marketing classes can be found in business departments. You may not find “marketing” as a major, or minor(or maybe you will) but be more aware of the courses offered instead of what your degree will read.

I know that USC has an advertising minor and marketing concentration. I think the advertising minor involves graphic design classes.
I know that Carnegie Mellon has some type of graphic design/communication design program, and an excellent business school.
Cal Poly slo has graphic/communication design along with strong business. I think under graphic/communication design they might have an advertising concentration.

Schools like Michigan or any large research university(not necessarily ivy leagues) are bound to have some form of marketing/graphic design in their business and art department. you just need to take a look at a lot of schools to check out their major offerings.

KU Is Kansas, right?

heyy someone with the same interests/major. yay! :)

im going to major in graphic design (or whatever each school calls it) and possibly minor in advertising & this is where i applied:
