I am applying for a Masters in OT. My verbal score went down to a 149 which is 41st percentile- and Quantitative was 155 which is 56th percentile( I need to be above 50th) but my writing score went from a 4.5 to a 5 (which is out of 6). The first time I took the GRE my verbal was higher and writing was a 4.5 which is good.
Would you submit the higher GRE Verbal Score or the lower Verbal with better writing score?
I have read that the analytical writing is the least important of the three.
I would probably submit both, and let the university make their decision based on that.
The difference between a 4.5 and a 5 isn’t that big, so I’d go with the higher overall score. The writing test doesn’t really measure anything, anyway (it’s a timed 5-paragraph essay, aka a genre you will never encounter again), and I think the consensus among grad programs is growing to shy away from it and the GRE altogether.
