I'm a current student of Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California. I hope to transfer within the next year. I was wondering about any really good film programs California. Naturally, we're in the movie capital of the world, and UCLA obviously has a great program, but I was curious about other, lesser known programs that could be good or just as good. Thanks a lot!

I think you're forgetting USC. On the less-known scale, I've heard Chapman is good. My friend went there, and she wants to be a movie editor?

I also heard Chapman is good for film.

There is also Loyola Marymount and some of the other UC's. Didn't Stephen Spielberg go to UC San Diego?

There's the Los Angeles Film School, but that only leads to an Associate's and it's very intensive...all film, all the time. Same thing for Los Angeles City College. For a bachelor's there is UCLA, USC, Loyola Marymount, Chapman. Those are just the most popular ones. UCLA might be the easiest to transfer your previous credits to since you're in the CA community college system.

Oh, also CSU Long Beach.

Thanks a ton for the information guys! I'll definitely check into it!

Please don't forget that you cannot get into UCLA film school unless you are a junior. Which puts you in a position of having to go 2 years before you know if you will even be accepted.
