Great things about Northwestern List

anything good about Northwestern other than food? lol

haha this is hilarious
basically. northwestern = chipotle.

Nationally acclaimed programs in many academic fields.
NU offers wider range of study than just about any mid-sized university out there.

chipotle > whatever place that other guy mentioned that no one has heard of.

^ Very smart of you to have made your opinion w/o haven't eaten at both places.

Anyway, the best after imbibing munchies burrito place is the Taco Burrito Palace No.2 on Halsted (not as "Californy" as the other places).

I mean Northwestern lets you pave your own way in terms of majors and activities, I’ve been able to everything I’ve ever wanted to do and it’s awesome. Love this school

I’ve heard multiple alums say they loved the quarter system. It was pretty intense, but the options it opened up for them to take “fun” classes outside of their major seemed to balance that out.

Hailing from an excellent college town myself, I must say that Evanston is awesome. I felt like I was walking through downtown Columbia, Missouri, just with a few more people. Great looking town with a lot of options at your fingertips.

Plus, yes. Chipotle. For $6 to $8 you can effectively and happily feed yourself for over 24 hours on one of those burritos.

-Being one of the leading research universities in the country is amazing. Northwestern isn’t a huge state school, which means a lot of prof-student interaction, and the profs are absolutely brilliant. The opportunities you get at Northwestern: 24/7 access to labs with really cool (i.e. expensive) toys, research opportunities, alumni connections, plays, downtown Chicago, etc. are really like none other.

-The quarter system is a love-hate. Hate when the odd break times (summer, winter, spring) that never line up with anyone else’s, and hate the break-neck pace, but it does offer opportunity to take more classes, for which I’m grateful

-If you’re an engineer, EDC, engineering design & communication. Real life experience that helps real clients and really answers “what does an engineer do?” freshman year.

-As mentioned, Evanston is an amazing college town + lake

-I feel like that Northwestern students are students who are there to truly embrace college experience. It is definitely a work hard play hard environment, with a nice balance of quirkiness, nerdiness, jocks, etc. Plus it has half-decent sports teams (some of the time).
