How is the Brown greek scene different from your typical fraternity at a state school…and I honestly hope it is different. I’ve seen the usual frats at UT Austin and the people all act like idiots and everything revolves around getting wasted (constantly) and going to night clubs. Is Brown’s greek scene in any way “smarter” than these state schools? I aks because Brown seems like a good fit all around until I find that over half of the student body is in a fraternity or sorority…which makes me think UT again. Bleh

uh, only like 10% of brown students are greek

um...did you copy and paste my thread in the dartmouth forum? :D I don't care, that's just it word for word except for the Brown inserted instead of Dartmouth.

yeah, there's basically no greek life at brown. Yay Brown!

sorry brand_182..i thought i was a good thread and i didnt feel like typing =)

LMAO I'm sorry it's just funny you didn't change much so it ends up saying Brown has over half of its student body in the greek clubs.

And you didn't change the word "aks" either. lol.

Edit: hey no problem use my threads anytime ya need em. but you definitely don't have to worry a/b Brown. It's perfect. :)

the fraternities hold most of the big parties on campus. Some of them are more stereotypical than others, but even those will pale in comparison to UT. I'm guessing you're a girl, and the sorority scene at Brown is basically zero.

There are also some really cool frats that are not at all like your typical state school frat -- there are two co-ed literary fraternities (well, one calls itself a "society," but it's Greek), one co-ed fraternity (non-literary and kind of quirky), a Jewish fraternity that's a little more chill, etc. The Program Houses also throw social events, as do various clubs and other groups on campus, so social life doesn't completely revolve around the greek system.
