<p>Thanks for the news - is this the only sorority planned for now, or have other national sororities expressed interest in colonizing at Davidson?</p>
<p>I believe AKA is a historically black sorority and that there are no plans to make sororities a more widespread presence at Davidson.</p>
<p>This is uncertain. I've heard other sororities might be coming to the campus, but I know that there's only one on-campus house available (the old PKA house -- PKA has moved to Main Street), so I don't know.</p>
<p>mattmom, AKA is the original African-American sorority, founded in 1908 (this makes 100 years). We had an opportunity to meet and interview some AKA sisters at University of Houston if you're interested in learning more about the first historically black sorority by going to youtube and searching for greekster.</p>
